It is hard to believe that we are more than half-way through the Rotary year. It seems like just yesterday Past-President Rob Bradley handed over the gavel, and here we are several months later moving into 2018. Our motto of “Service Above Self” is alive and strong in our club. We continue to do good things throughout our community and around the world. We surpassed our Polio Plus fundraising goal again this year with 55 of our members contributing $6,125, and our Kettle Volunteers for the Salvation Army recently raised $1,678 in local donations. Our Holiday Flair was a big success thanks to the Social Committee, and our club’s presence on Facebook continues to grow. With two new applications in process, our membership is growing to 80 members, and hopefully we’ll have even more next year. As we look to the months ahead in 2018, excitement grows for another round of service opportunities. We’ll be counting laps every week with the Garfield Track Stars, giving out another round of scholarships to aspiring high school students, and will be continuing to host our exchange student from Brazil. As a club, we’ll need to shift our focus towards our April 28th annual dinner and auction - “Be a Superhero – 2018 Go Play Gala”. We need support from members to bring in event sponsors and auction procurements. We also need members to attend the event with lots friends and family. Be sure to click the auction website and by your tickets before the end of January though, because the price goes up after that.

Thank you for this opportunity to serve as your President.  It has been an incredible experience.
