Community Service

Grouped within Community Service are the projects we undertake that typically have a “hands on” component. As our name suggests, we look for project opportunities associated with West Olympia, but we are active throughout the greater Olympia/Thurston County area. The “hands on” element varies from conducting collection drives (food, clothing, books, etc.) to turning dirt and pounding nails. We also have an active scholarship program that provides thousands of dollars annually to local kids pursuing their career interests. While we actively look for project opportunities, much of what we’ve done resulted from needs that were brought to our attention. These projects typically involve partnering with one or more other agencies from the community. We invite such agencies and individual to contact us with potential projects and opportunities. The following are some examples of past community projects we have undertaken or that are presently underway.

  • Westside Skateboard Park
  • Sunrise Park
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • School Playground Maps
  • Food Drive
  • Christmas Giving Tree - Garfield School
  • Scholarships - Capital High School
  • Clothing Drive
  • Literacy Projects
  • Flood Victim Relief
  • Spaghetti Bowl - before Olympia-Capital HS football game
  • Rotary Point - coming soon at West Bay Park
  • Kid Care
  • Community Connector - Fort Lewis
  • Salvation Army Bell Ringing
